(October 2016) The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office and the McKinleyville Chamber of Commerce held the first of two meetings November 9 to form the new McKinleyville Business Watch Program. Under Sheriff Honsal and HCSO Volunteer Ginger Campbell educated the group on ways to prevent and reduce crime as well as work closely with their neighbors to create a more cohesive community within the business district. Also present were representatives from Brant Electric and Advanced Security to give information about lighting and security. The second scheduled meeting is Tuesday, November 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Azalea Conference Center at the McKinleyville Middle School.
On Thursday November 10, Eureka Natural Food opened their doors to businesses and the community for the chamber's monthly mixer. The place was packed with people and many good connections were made. We saw many new faces in the crowd and welcomed new members; VIP Nail Spa & Foot Massage, Brant Electric, Custom Audio & Video as well as Forbes Associates. Also introduced to the group was new board member Emily Abfelter of MCSD. Join us for our next mixer hosted by Blue Lake Casino on Thursday December 8 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
