Tree Lighting Ceremony

We had a wonderful turnout Thursday evening for the kick off to the Christmas season in McKinleyville! A total of 36 Girl Scouts welcomed the community with Christmas carols at the town Christmas tree. Arcata Fire Department transported Santa to the tree for the official lighting. Then Boy Scout Troop 99 members assisted in the old Napa building while many local children enjoyed Christmas crafts, having a photo with Santa, receiving balloon art work and partaking of a horse drawn carriage ride! Many thanks to Anne Pierson and the McKinleyville Shopping Center for continuing this heartwarming community tradition. Thank you Taffy Stockton for coordinating.
