Jeffery Schwartz Photography

 

 

Jeff has been a photographer since childhood. “For my 13th birthday, I was gifted a photo enlarger and learned to develop and print black and white film in the bathroom of the house I grew up in.”

In the late 1980s, Jeff moved to Arcata to attend Humboldt State University where he studied Journalism and Public Relations. During the 1990s, Jeff’s attention turned to his wife Kelli and raising his two sons. He worked as a dispatcher at a local police department and was an active volunteer firefighter and engineer with the Arcata Volunteer Fire Department. All told, he served as a dispatcher for almost 20 years and a fire volunteer for over 30.

When he acquired his first digital SLR, everything changed and his photography bug went into high gear. “I love taking photos anywhere I find myself, but Humboldt County’s forests and beaches are probably my favorite.”

In 2016, one of Jeff’s horse pictures was published by National Geographic in one of their children’s books.

Jeff combines his artistic eye and advanced editing skills to showcase his images on his website and social media platforms. Prints may be purchased at one of several businesses where he displays his work as well as his website.
